I've never been to a writer's convention, but I like to imagine they are fun, productive, and helpful. The greasy-gropey stuff sounds too much like a bad bachelorette party. Capo, the way the rumors are flying, I'd almost believe those videos are out there, somewhere. ;) Angelle, I know what you mean. All the cheap schmaltz--the commemorative plaques, the bumper-stickers, the t-shirts. Ugh! That stuff pisses me off. National tragedy should not be a merchandising opportunity, and it sure as hell shouldn't be the inspiration for a memorial strip-o-gram. It's incredibly insensitive. I saw the planes hit the towers out of my office window and my parents live not too far from the Pentagon, so the entire experience is not something to be trivialized with strippers. I don't care about strippers one way or the other. If people like them, fine. Just don't use them to pay "respect" to 911 or anything like that.
