Five years, my darling

After five years together, my great, clunking, 8 year old desktop computer has begun to falter. It’s up, it’s down, it’s frozen. Oh, dear. We’ll try to save it, really we will. A nice new 150 gig hard drive with a 10 gig partition for all the old stuff. So if I’m not around for a while, please remember, I am caring for an old friend.

  1. Eeek! I’m sorry to hear about your computer woes. Eight years is a long time for a PC so it must’ve been a very good unit (and you’ve been a very good user…I tend to be…not too good).

Hopefully you can get it fixed / saved.

Do you have another computer that you can use or is it your only one?

  2. 8 years? Other than the tower, is anything original on that bad boy? ;)

  3. I soooo hear you.
    Grrr. I’m saving now…
    :D Good luck.
    I hope it gets better.
    and your excerpt was great!
    thanks for sharing.

  4. Bettie,

If you get the chance, drop me an email! Your costume was featured on the blog and you won a book! I just need your info. ;) Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Eek! So sorry!

We’re starting to have issues with our laptop lately…just hoping it makes it another year, as I don’t want to be exiled to the desktop upstairs, and we don’t want to buy another laptop in the UK when we hope to leave next year.

    I’m thinking I may try a Macbook next…
